Riceburner Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Hey guys, I have an aftermarket alloy radiator that I'm currently running. I have been usuing my old recorvery standard pressure cap, the car runs fine and at normal temp but never seems to pressurise the rad hoses. The radiator came with a higher pressure cap 1.2 instead of 0.9... Can I use the higher pressure cap without doing damage or causing problems? Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted June 21, 2010 Moderators Posted June 21, 2010 You may find any weaker points in your cooling system when you do that.. Stick with the original pressure it was made for. PS: Saw a nice white zed at that panel beater on Cochranes Rd.... Quote
Riceburner Posted June 21, 2010 Author Posted June 21, 2010 I was thinking the same but the new rad came with this cap and stated on instructions to use it, But I'd rather not pop something if I don't have to, just don't like having spongey hoses without pressure :-\ seems strange I thought no pressure was bad..... Damn, my cloaking device must be broken again! Just getting new front/rear spoilers painted, new doors, front/rear quaters, bonnet, rear hatch, rear valance, tail light surround all sorted. I think it looks more like a piggy bank with wheels Quote
