Door repairs

I was interested to read that the door skins purchased from All Z parts were too small. I would like to purchase door skins as my 240Z has had the rust repaired by welding a plate over the existing doors at the bottom. This of course makes them stand out proud of front and rear guards.

Anybody sourced fromZworx and fitted. If so how much did you pay for the skins and what have you found.

Yes, I had Zworx fit new skin supplied by AllZparts Syd. I'm happy with Warrens job of fitting however skin has come up a tad small at the front and as a result the gap between the door and front panel has an extra 3 or 4mm. Prior to doing the work he did warn that some skins are a little off. I figured I could close it up a little by pulled the panel back a couple of mm, not sure how hard it would be and I've just been too lazy as it's not that noticable.

I had that same discussion from Sulio some time back. I rang AllZparts and they said that was a few years ago and that they had change the pressing.

 

I have purchased 2 door skins from them but have not fitted them yet. I measured them and the original doors as best I could and they seemed OK. Time will tell I guess.

 

You can purchase just the rust repair panel from the US, which was my original strategy but at the time could only get 1 side. The postage is a killer as they are over 1M long. I had it planned for someone to carry home. Motoersport Auto and Victoria British sell them.

I believe Zworx will make up the lower panel and replace just that section, but probably would not be cheap.
