Howdy,

Does anyone know with the tail light surrounds and middle section, which your license plate goes over... If that middle section could be different say between a 240z and a 260z?

Either way I'm stuffed I reckon!

Cheers.

Interesting. I was just comparing a couple of them yesterday. Both were on 240zs but one was slightly different from the other. I think mine might be off a 260z but the difference was very very subtle. on the other car the little hooks under the license plate covered the join, making it look like the whole back cover was a single piece. On mine you can see the join.

What is up?

Do you have a 240 or 260z?

I have a spare one off a 260z if you want to compare?

Galderdi that could be what's going on, I went out to that hillclimb at Mt Cotton last weekend, a lime green 240 had a surround which looked near like all one piece. Also, don't think I've forgot to post the pics of the plastic chroming up mate, just need a degree to learn how to upload pics on this forum ay!

Garvice, it's a 240 but this middle section is so out it could be from a 260 I think. Have some CF tail surrounds instead of the normal metal ones, but they don't seem to be the problem... It's like the lip along the top of the surrounds don't match and the screw holes on the rear panel don't suit the middle section either...strange.

Well it could be Gareth but I just don't have anything to compare different tail sections to. A guy I get a few parts from reckons they were all the same, but from what's been said here a 240 to 260 could be different and different year 240z might vary too! Mines a 71, but I might have to take the middle sections round to another 240 with a complete section and eyeball the difference. One suggestion was to bend it into shape, not too keen on that one!
