Two more have jogged my memory...from Dalby to Kingaroy in Qld, a good road and a pleasant drive

The other memorable road was from Tumut to the Snowy (I stopped at Talbingo) but the road was smooth and rut free...the scenery wasn't bad either, on that cool and frosty morning lol

All the stages in Classic Adelaide and Targa Tassy are special (hence why they're called "Special Stages"!) as is the 16klm 150+ turn climb from the bottom to the top of Mt Buller.

The climb over the top of the mountains from Whittlesea to Yea in Vic is good one, as is the climb from Corryong to Cooma (NSW).

not telling :-)....

nah, two of my favourite local (ish) dashes in Victoria are:

short stretch but the dash between Cape Patterson and Inverloch on the Coast road through the Bunarong (excuse the spellling) reserve is fun.....although have to choose your time if doing in a 'spirited' fashion as there are quite a few blind corners (and cyclists/surfers/divers/wombats are increasingly appearing on the road..they are a paint to clean off and leave nasty dents).

Otherwise, one stretch of the Leongatha/kongwak (excuse the spelling) road is not bad either.....

Putty Rd in NSW is good, the Datun Drivers Culb, now defunk, bought a huge block of land on this road, was bought by another club to develop a car club event park, not sure what happened to it

Well i thought that was interesting so did a Google search, aparently the Sydney Off Road Racing Association owns the land now.... taken from their website "The property we now race on was owned by the Datsun Drivers Club & our club worked with the caretaker/organizer George Sosimenko to help build some of the sheds & stuff you see around the southern end of the property, near the dirt circuit."

I would imagine the circuit is more suited to buggys and baja style trucks tho  :-\

Drove the road between Cairns and Pt Douglas on Tuesday. Not the most challenging road out, but still a nice amount of twisties. And man is it beautiful! Rainforrest on one side, ocean on the other.

The MX5 got cleaned up on the Old Pacific Hwy, the investigation into that crash is still to be finalised I believe.

The Putty Road is still a good drive, from my last quick trip down it. The Old Pacific hwy was a great drive, but too many people spoilt it, now mainly 40-50km/h I believe.

Another good drive up that way is the road from the back of Gosford, west out to Wiasemans ferry through Mangrove Mountain, IIRC.
