Hand Brake Rubber Seal

Does anyone know where a replacement can be found for the rubber seal that fits on the end of the handbrake lever as it goes through the transmission tunnel to fit to the cabel? Nissan apparently don't stock them anymore. Thanks.

Funny you posted this today - I too am looking for one - I noticed that Nissan have the part listed as NLA and the partnumber is now down as obsolete

 

So I popped down to the local hardware store (did not go to bunnings but Mitre 10 as they were closer at the time) and picked up a rubber chair stop (4 in a box) for $6 (yes a bit given you only need one) thing. I got the round 30mm version in black. So I got home and checked it out.

 

I as I only did this today I have not cut it down or the like (as stated funny you posted this today as this is what I did today  ) but the rubber/plastic cap thing fits over the bit welded to the tunnel - it could be a little smaller really - I might go back tomorrow and see if they have a 28mm version.

 

Anyway my idea is cut it down to the right length and then cut the centre hole to replicate the original part - I guess I will then have 3 spares going forward too.

 

So that is what I will be doing later in the week - cutting and creating one of these dust/grease boots from a chair cap/thing.

The ones I have are plastic - they feel like a rubber mind you - I got WRT4030

Great idea - many thanks. I think I have a few spare of these at home so will try likewise over the weekend. From memory the rubber at the end where the hole needs to be is quite thick so hopefully it won't be too thick/inflexible to act as a good seal.
