280zx L28 fan

while i was putting on the fan from the L24 on the L28, it fits on the water pump except it hits the front harmonic, is there a substitute for the L28 fan? i wanna get this car on the road now since its nearly done.

I thought the fans were the same size?

well they fit but it it keeps hitting the harmonic balancer. the l28 has 3 pulleys on the front while the l24 has only 2 therefore it cleared :S

Does the front pulley unbolt?

Yes you do, its a big L28 one.

Put a breaker bar on the nuts making sure you have it supported somewhere the right way and kick the starter motor over for a millisecond. Same way you get crank bolts undone.

I mean does the 3 row unbolt? It has been a long time since I have seen a stock L28 pulley (we use a custom setup and a BMW balancer on our builds these days) and I now some cars allow the front most pulley to be removed.
