620Z Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Well ZDream, You sure had one when you started working on this car. It looks fantastic. A lot of work, time, money and effort has gone into this. Something I can appreciate and love to see some of the original mods to the Zeds. I am impressed with the power plant have you taken it out on the track yet. Or is it going to be more of a cruiser. I hope to see it in the flesh one day. Maybe come down to Vic for the annual Tassie trip in Feb'07 or the Easter Nationals. I am sure you will attract plenty of attention. Quote
zdream Posted August 17, 2006 Author Posted August 17, 2006 Thanks for the comment,no it has not seen any track work yet, that will come with the new motor thats under way.It was a hand full before, there are a few driving events coming up soon ,that I want the car ready for, get to use the power. Quote
RPMZ Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 oooooohhhh......... I do like the engine conversion, please keep us updated on the car progress. Looking very good so far. I am not big on convertibles, but everything else looks promising. Quote
zdream Posted November 27, 2006 Author Posted November 27, 2006 ( 1 )The first pictures show the car with the round roll bars, harrness and spare simmons wheel mounted behide the seats. The boot area now has fuel tank that progesses though the floor. to the right of that is the water injection tank, and to the left is the water pump and fuel expansion tank. ( 2 )Here are the inlet and exhaust ports before porting began.you can see in the bottom right picture I had started grinding the inlet ports. They were bad to begin with. ( 3 )these photos show the block,bored,decked,o-ringed. The heads ported and polished, and inlet runners ported and polished. If you look at the top left photo you can see down the runners into the ports of the heads( very smooth ) ( 4 )the manifolds, A lot of work in building these! cut from the plate you see in the first photo,to the finished product in the last shot. ( 5 )The new twin plate clutch, maybe this one will hold the power.[/img] Quote
