zanzee01 Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Hi, we have for sale a 1982 Datsun/Nissan 280zx. Car is in Greenbank, Southside Brisbane, QLD It is a 3spd auto, with the original unmodified motor. The car is in excellent original condition. No rust. Now, when we say no rust, we don't mean "except for in the usual places" we mean dead set NO rust anywhere at all. Yay! We have had the car since 1986, we're the second owners. It has always been garaged. It is the original paint in great condition (had some stone chips fixed up a few months ago to keep it that way). Targa top- they do not and have never leaked and we have the original protector pouch for the targas. No rips or tears in original upholstery, has sheepskin covers on front seats. Chrome nudgebar, imported whitewall pirelli tyres + spare, headlight protectors. Some cracks in dash despite the dashmat being on it all it's life. Velour spare wheel cover. Great air conditioning. Runs like a dream. Has a towbar * tongue not attached at the moment * QLD rego until 06/10 and current rwc VIN: QPHS280 Engine No. L28693552 Rego: PHS280 Approx. 185000 ks Asking SOLD Phone 0732000202 or sms 0431337099 Quote
zanzee01 Posted February 21, 2010 Author Posted February 21, 2010 For $8500 this car is as it was when it was driven out of the dealership. Quote
stevo_gj Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 For a fully original 280zx with no rust in the condition you have described I think that's a very fair price, good luck with the sale mate Quote
Lynton Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 From my observation 2nd hand classics are a bit slow at the moment, doesn't seem to be a lot of disposable cash out there for toys, just ride the wave and be patient, it will happen lynton Quote
. Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 I agree, also the wave is more pronounced on the forum because the greater majority of us already have our toys. Have you listed the car elsewhere? I do think that price is quite appropriate if the description is accurate. Quote
zanzee01 Posted March 1, 2010 Author Posted March 1, 2010 Thanks for your encouraging comments Lynton and galderdi. Have had four 260zs over my many years, and now my daughter is up and coming and wants both of us to go back to what she calls 'my era'. This means the 280zx needs to be sold before I can do that. The description is very accurate, have had a few people out that didn't believe us and went away with foot-in-mouth! : ) We have it advertised with uniquecars, carsales, carsguide, trading post and ebay. Not that we went all out or anything like that. Hopefully someone will be after a pretty schmick toy soon. Zanzee Quote
C.A.R. Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 A massive 'Ninja Edit' has occurred. Anymore nonconstructive comments & the offending user will be taking a holiday... (this is directed you Tonza). Quote
Lynton Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Zanzee01, I know you have had S30's before but 280ZX's are soooooo user friendly!! Are you sure you are doing the right thing? I reckon you should get back in a 240/260 again for a while and use it how you currently use your 280 before you sell it, you maybe a bit dissapointed although the S30's looks are really spunky. I actually saw you both I presume in the car on the Bruce Highway, trailer on tow with some cane furniture on board it sure looks a spiffy clean machine, possibly almost irreplaceable. I was in my yellow S15 and turned off at Anzac avenue. My only comment is don't sell yourself short as the 280zx without doubt will rebound and will almost certainly be in short supply in the not to distant future. Good luck!! there has to be some enthusiast out there for a grand old lady. Lynton Quote
zanzee01 Posted May 2, 2010 Author Posted May 2, 2010 Hi Lynton, A person can't hide anywhere. Yep she is a grand old lady, like the owner/driver my Mother, whose faith in her ability to know a quality car, you have just restored. Thanks for that, and I have left the add as it was. Nice of you to comment , particularly after actually seeing the car, if only on the road. Thanks for the encouragement Quote
Lynton Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Congrats on the sale of your 280zx I hope it went to an enthusiasts home. Is that your black 260Z 2+2? Lynton Quote
zanzee01 Posted May 16, 2010 Author Posted May 16, 2010 Yeah, I think it did. It was a pressie for his wife's birthday- very sweet. Thanks again for all your advice and help with selling it, your input is greatly appreciated. The black 260z 2+2 is my daughters, we've just stripped it out and she is looking for a good mobile rust repairman at the moment. Unfortunately I also have to sell my toyota supra before a zed is possible for me, as people expect you to pay bills! Which I think is very inconsiderate of them. Quote
