kev333 Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 i bought the 1983 zx 3 weeks ago now im painting it with enamel paint and a high density roller! many pics on the net about this so i thought as my paint was rough i would give it a go, just waiting for the last coat to set then cut and polish time , still looking for a dash cap right hand drive, no luck so far Quote
Surly_Z Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 I never knew the vent on the right was for cooling the battery!!! Kidding! Good luck! Quote
modular9 Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 I demand close up shots of end result. Looks great. Cops were called on me when I resprayed my car ( then the council ) so this might be a better option. Keep us updated. Quote
kev333 Posted January 12, 2010 Author Posted January 12, 2010 i made an arse of it,need to start sanding, it should have been acrylic paint , dont know what the difference is i missed that bit on the net, all will be good soon!!! Quote
kev333 Posted January 18, 2010 Author Posted January 18, 2010 sanded down now, found cans of silver $3 , looks dented but its just the light, i will clear coat now before anymore paint is done Quote
modular9 Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 might mean less sanding and prep using rattle cans. Still interested in the end results. Quote
kev333 Posted January 30, 2010 Author Posted January 30, 2010 i had to go back to the roller with enamel paint, spray cans were crap , if i had stuck with it at the start it would have been finished, now i have to wait a few weeks before i polish it . Quote
hunterzed Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 You know it isn't that hard to remove the window wipers and antenae. lol. Easier than removing the lights. Quote
kev333 Posted January 30, 2010 Author Posted January 30, 2010 funny you saying that, i have just been out removing the paint from them, i always think when taking parts off springs and parts fly off bits drop inside never to be seen again! Quote
kev333 Posted February 7, 2010 Author Posted February 7, 2010 i hope a cut and polish takes the roller marks off Quote
