Air Conditioning

I'm looking to purchase my first Z  , either a 240 or '74 260 2 seater.

 

None of the vehicles I'm looking at appear to have AC. Are there any pitfalls to be aware of when installing after market AC?

there was a genuine Z AC system on Gbay the other day for $700

Most 2+2 have them but not the 2 seaters.

I don't have pictures of the one I just pulled out of my car but I may be willing to let it go. As far as I can tell it is a mickey mouse factory option install or at the very least one from the era, except for the condensor radiator which has been replaced.

I am pretty sure the 1977/78 last of the 260z coupe's, air-conditioning was available from the factory but the numbers of cars that would have it in Oz would be very very small as most of the Zeds sold in the latter years were 2+2's!! but I can't see why that system wouldn't bolt straight into a 2 seater coupe? Youre right about that,

 

There is no difference what so ever bewteen 2 and 2+2 systems, I actually got a system for mine from a 2+2, but just make sure you also grab the fan unit as the air-con versioned cars had a stronger motored assy.

Ill have to take some pictures of the unit in my car. If only the 260z's came with AC then I guess mine must be after market?!? If it is it must be dam old from the look of it!
