brake peddle not returning

My brakes were fine, until I decided it was time to bleed them. Now the peddle doesn't seem to return as far and the brakes are slightly engaged while I am driving. Even when I reach down with my hand I can't pull the peddle back to its normal possition. I thought it was just needing more bleeding but I have now bled them multiple times but can't get it to work properly.

 

Any suggestions?

This is a big stab in the dark, but when bleeding brakes you suddenly have full travel in the brake master cylinder when it normally has minimal travel. With me so far? This 'foot to the floor' travel can upset seals due to them passing over corroded/mucky surfaces that haven't been used in a long time. This has possibly disrupted a seal and is restricting the pedal return.

Did you bleed the Master Cylinder first? If not do so as Dalee and i (on advice) know it works heaps better.

for what reason were you bleeding the brakes in the first place? was there a problem ? maybe all you did was expose the initial problem by bleeding the brakes ,go back to your basics

Easy fix then.......

 

Get rid of the booster and get a firmer pedal with much better feel.

 

I run an unboosted 1" m/c and it's no problems at all to use, just has so much better feel than a boosted pedal.
