ol_skl_jp Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 Hi, question to all the tuners on the forum Can anyone tell me why engines are not dyno tested on part throttle? or are they? I believe it has something to do with pumping losses caused by the throttle, but don't know if that entirely is why there not test at part throttle. FYI im writing a lab report for a engine dyno experiment, which tested engine charac's (power, torque, cylinder pressure...) at 50% throttle and 100% throttle, and i need to explain why the power and torque curves look completely different to each throttle stage. Thanks Quote
waxhead Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 When you dyno an engine your looking to get the tune just right for max throttle opening. When you do 50% etc you can just extrapolate of the known figures Quote
