Mate I recommend giving them a quick coat of clear lacquer. It will hold that look for twice as long.

I used to be an electroplater. and I recently bought a kit. It works well.

Those bits look great and $30 is a great price.

Platers usually have a minimum charge, whether you fill the basket up or only have 3 items.  Probably could have had a whole milk crate worth of stuff done for the same cost.  Sometimes with things like pulleys though they tend to want to hang them individually rather than tumbling them through the machine.... especially when they happen to be cam gears  :'(  4 exposed black cam gears do look hot though!

Yea $30 is the minimum charge and the containers they use to do them are about 60 cm high and 30 cm wide which would allow for a lot more parts to be done. I only tried the zinc because thats what the parts were but apperently they dip them in chrome first (after the acid dip) and then into the zinc which you can get done blue or gold.

Dalee and i are getting another bunch of parts done which is probably a good idea as you get more for your Dollar. Only problem is they usually take a couple of weeks cause they put them through with other orders. But they are the only chromer in town.
