Zedback Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 If anyone is interested in a bit of low impact motorsport fun the HSCCQ will be holding a 'Come and Try' motorkhana on 12 July. The 'come and try' events are put together so new people can have a go without the pressure to compete. There are 2 runs per course and you can have a passenger, meaning you can invite an experienced member to come along and coach. It will be held in the parking area behind the willowbank drags with scrutineering starting from 8am and entries closing at 9.30am. Runs generally start about 10.30am and go till about 3pm. Cost is $30 entry plus day membership and a day CAMS license, I'll let you know what these are when I find out (not much [Edit= $25]). You also need a CTP extension from your CTP insurer. If anyone is interested let me know and I'll send you the Sup Regs and entry forms and answer any questions. You can see Galderdi at one on youtube: I'll be there trying to figure out how to drive the z32 Mike Quote
Zedback Posted June 20, 2009 Author Posted June 20, 2009 Cost for the day is $30 entry if you have a CAMS 2NS or higher and membership of a CAMS affiliated car club OR $30 entry + $25 day license = $55 if you are a newby. CTP extension varies from free to a few $$s depending on who you have, (ie. Suncorp is free). Quote
V8Datto Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 You also need a CTP extension from your CTP insurer. What's a CTP extension?..... liability insurance? Quote
. Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 CTP extension only applies in QLD. CTP is Compulsory Third Party insurance. It is the insurance you have to purchase when registering a car for the road. Then if you participate in any motorsport you have to get permission from the insurer. Quote
