modular9 Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 look away if you like muscle cars. http://www.pierogi2000.com/flatfile/schipperjCrash.html Basically this is a machine that slowly crashes 2 cars together and at a certain point the artist stops the machine and calls it done. 'nuff said really. Quote
sexual_sushi Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 I really like the idea, poor cars though They should do it with excels or something but it wouldn't look as good Quote
waxhead Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Why dont they get artists and slowly squash them together until there heads pop What a waste of good metal i thought most artist were hairy kombi driving , grass smoking greenies I dont think they would like such a waste of valuable minerals Quote
nizm0zed Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 my big criticism? they attached the cars to the machine by the rear axle. so when they push against each other, they bend the rear of the car too. If they modded the subframe a bit and bolted it down like that, it'd look more realistic. maybe even introduce a slight angle in the impact? but i am wondering, if i do this in canberra (apparently a very arty place) can i apply for a government grant? A friend of mine's mother got a grant of $40k to make some painted concrete posts. Quote
nizm0zed Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 damn right im a critic, if i think its shit, i'll say so ;D Quote
modular9 Posted May 19, 2009 Author Posted May 19, 2009 I agree I find the juxtoposition of the socio economic have-nots and the top echelon of society being played out in a bourgeois SOHO art -space, frankly deplorable. Closer look at the shots looks like the cars are stripped and in some cases the rust is too far gone. Still dont like to see it. Quote
