Administrators gav240z Posted March 28, 2006 Administrators Posted March 28, 2006 Well I finally got it back my 72 Z's original motor. The original owner had it for sale on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4624378009&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1 and I made sure I got it back. Good thing is I can probably use the L24 rods with the LD28 crank but would prefer to use L14 spec rods if I can find any. So if I ever do decide that I would like to make the Z all original I at least have the original block that came with the car. Quote
Natez Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 like the same block number as is on the placard... howd u find out it was your before you bidded Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted March 29, 2006 Author Administrators Posted March 29, 2006 Yep matching numbers engine. The same number as stamped on my compliance plate. I knew it was the same block because I recognised the description as similar to what the previous owner told me about the old L24. The sellers name and location was also a hint. So I emailed him and he said he tried unsuccessfully to contact me and figured I was not interested in the old parts. However I'm glad i got it back for originality sake and for the fact that I can use the L24 rods with the LD28 crank. Although as I said I would like to source a set of L14 spec ones if possible. Last quote I got for those was $700 AUD though. Quote
