Jospef Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I have a switch in my centre console next to the rear defogger. When my car was running I would flick it and nothing would happen (except the little lamp in it would light up signalling it had power). I got the console out and traced the wires. I have power, ground, and then the destination wire. I traced it and it ends up in a relay box under the dash on the passenger side. One wire from the relay goes to ground, another wire disappears into the dash somewhere (couldn't trace it), another wire connects into another kind of junction, which goes into the dash, anddddd finally the last wire goes straight into the fan motor under the passenger side of the dash. Wtf is this? Any ideas? Quote
RBZ 260 Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 to me sounds like someone tried to boost the fan speed by having an extra connection from the fuse box. to verify this: turn your fan on low and than flick the switch.see if the fan speeds up. other than that who knows what 'brilliant idea" previous owner had and installed it. other than that, write up the details like u did but add specific relay info. ie let me know what pin number they hooked everything up numbers are 86 85 85a 30 etc..... than i can try and figure out what they trying to achive with it. Jospef Posted April 13, 2009 Author Posted April 13, 2009 You're probably right, RBZ. When I get my engine back together I'll do a few diagnostics tests. Fingers crossed it shoots missiles . Quote
Jospef Posted June 18, 2009 Author Posted June 18, 2009 Pulled it all out the other day, turns out it ran all the way to the air-con up front of the engine bay. Some kind of aftermarket power button. Quote
maddos Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Probably just operated the clutch on your aircon compressor. Nice and simple aircon on / aircon off. Quote
