D.O.G Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 Hi Folks, I'm a new member but not new to Zs. I drove a '72 240Z auto for 10 years, from the late 70s until I couldn't justify keeping it anymore (2 seats + 2 kids = trouble). My present ride has reached its use by date (480k +), so I thought "Buy another Z". Unfortunately, I couldn't afford the price of a restored one or the time to restore one myself. So I looked for alternatives and found the answer in an '81 280ZX auto in reasonable condition at reasonable cost that I picked up on the weekend. My plan is to use this as my daily drive, not sure yet if this is a practical plan but I'm going to have fun finding out. I'd love to hear from anyone who drives an S130 who might have some pointers for me. Quote

D.O.G Posted April 7, 2009 Author Posted April 7, 2009 Am having trouble posting photos unfortunately. The car is a white auto, built 12/81, red interior. Quite original I think (still has the original radio and cassette). Has been repainted (badly) at some stage and carries a bit of minor panel damage. I've driven it every day (with a big grin on my face) and it seems very good mechanically. Targa roof dosen't leak but the windows do. I have lots of questions to ask but I'll save them for the correct threads. Pete. Quote

Moderators Zedman240® Posted January 15, 2010 Moderators Posted January 15, 2010 Welcome...nice series 2 280! I'm sure after some minor work it will be a great example of a 280ZX. Quote
Lynton Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Looks good in the photos, they are a very user friendly car, if it goes then enjoy the ride, but fix any rust issues. Lynton Quote
