Anyone here have experience with RB30's?

I am having trouble getting mine started on petrol. Aerostart works, I have narrowed it down to the injectors not recaiving the firing "pulse".

Any ideas of where to look next?

Dazzed loaned me another ECU to try without luck. My next guess is to do with the Dizzy.

Help! I may have to register on a Skyline forum when I get a chance.

I cannot give any advice but I got a dizzy if you want to borrow it and see if it fixes the prob.

Awsome  ;D PM sent

I don't really have an RB, I'm hoping to borrow enough parts from everyone to build one.  :D

I guess I should get some pics up soon.

If it starts on Aerostart, obviously its got spark, so why swap the dizzy?

Narrowed it down to injectors not firing (no pulse with test light).

I overlooked this last time I read the other thread - what test light are you using to check the injector pulse?  Usually a filament style (regular globe) test light won't actually light up before the injector pulse has ended (cranking pulsewidths are usually less than 10 milliseconds).  If you are using an LED test light you might see it, or a digital multimeter with a bar graph may give you a little flicker when firing injectors.

Got fuel in the rail?  Fuel pump running?  Is the wiring all hooked up properly, including earth leads?  Do you know if the previous owner ever had it running in the car?

I have been told that the dizzy controls the injector timing.

I checked the injectors on my other car's L28 and it was showing the "pulse", not on the RB30 though.

I started at the fuel pump working forwards, there is fuel in the rail. No clicking by the injectors, I even pulled one out and checked it and found the basket to be clean.

Thats why I'm looking at the injectors

it sounds as if the injectors are not being earthed if you have constant power to the injectors, the ecu earths the injector , sound like a earth wire not connected, check all ground wires , if you put your test light on the ground side of the injector harness and the other end to positive battery crank the motor see if the light comes on if it does then you  have a circiut  if the injectors have been sitting a long time the fuel goes gummy and jammes up the injector, sometimes you can give each injector a sharp tap with something solid whilst another person cranks the motor,

OMG Daniel........I pulled the ECU off the mount. Does that mean it won't be earthed?

It shouldn't, ECU's aren't usually earthed through the case, they have earth wires running in the loom that go somewhere (location depends on car, some go to the engine, some go back to the battery, some have a connector on the body somewhere).
