lambs Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Surprised no-one has mentioned this: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4607915960 Looks like quite a nice original car - even the steering wheel !!. If the only rust is as shown then the new owner won't have too much to worry about. Of course interesting to see what's under the battery and what the sills/rear quarters are like. I suspect the condition of the drivers seat is 'not good'. Contrary to what someone has suggested to the seller in the Q's that have been answered, the carb's are not 240Z Hitachi's but genuine SU's probably from a Jaguar or similar. The thing's also running a bit rich judging by the soot on the L/H tail light and surround. I'd bid but the wife would kill me (literally) and I don't have the room. Still, might go and have a look as it's just down the road from me in Burwood. Quote
NZeder Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 I spotted that also - thought hmm maybe I should have a look at it when I am over from NZ next week...but then thought better of it - shipping to NZ would not be good and like you Lambs the wife would kill me Quote
darren Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Cheak that rust on the gaurd lower i bet you the chanel behind the gaurd is full of rust i know the 260 i just bought for a sum of $266.00 has only minor gaurd rust but still had rust behind it. But im sure every one on this site know's that, my point is what about the poor bugger who buy's this i would never buy a ebay car unless i could see it first. But it doe's look good. Regard's Darren Quote
lambs Posted January 29, 2006 Author Posted January 29, 2006 Seller has now admitted to more rust in the area in front of the rear wheels. Quote
Mr Camouflage Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 Theres also a 240Z on ebay, but you wont see it unless you search for "datsun 240" http://search.ebay.com.au/datsun-240_W0QQfromZR40 Quote

No guard badges (edit: might suggest that area of the guard has been heavily bogged due to rust). Quote
Mr Camouflage Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 or the badges werent that great, or one was missing.... Interior door panels aren't original either are they? Look like 260 ones to me. 240z never had stripes in them, that i've seen. Quote
