This weekend 28,29,30 Eastern Creek. 400+ historic sports and racing cars (probably 5+ racing zeds there). Ferrari 246 Chris Amon and BRM P126 Rodriguez Tasman cars plus a host of Lola's, Brabhams, Lotus, Ferrari, Porsche all racing none of this static nonsense :P. Check out www.tasmanrevival.com.au or HSRCA.org.au. This only happens once every two years so if you are in Sydney and like your zeds and historics suggest you be there! ;D

wow only every 2 years - I guess we are lucky here in NZ we have the Tasman Revival series every year (well I know that has been the case for the last 3 years) - I even took my old 240z race car there last year to 2 of the 3 events (one in Auckland and there other in Taupo)

If you guys get the chance to go along and watch you will see some great cars :)

Sir Jack, 40+ years ago I would skip school and go to Friday practice of the Tasman round. It was easy to slip under the fence and wander through the pits. I have a great collection of 'slides' from those days, including some of the Ferrari and BRM. I couldn't resist so I took a sickie today and went out again - FABULOUS!

those were the days - real noise, smells, oils etc....I love going to these meeting. The F5000 are great, even the little juniors are fun. Last year there were are bunch of junior cars/drivers from EU and they had a ball in NZ and OZ. So I think the events are getting more and more oversea's interest.

I wish I could have done like you Peter but those were the things my Dad used to do when the GP cars of the day used to race at Ardmore with drivers like Sir Jack, Hulme, McLaren, Clark, Moss, Gurney, Hill....the list goes on.

Looking forward to seeing more PIC guys :) and I will do the same when the meetings are over here :)

Went out there today as well Peter and will be going Sat and Sun too! You dont own a white 240 by any chance as saw a nice one in parking lot. Love those F5000 McLaren Chevy's if I had the money will think of buying one. Ferrari and BRM sounded unreal although Ferrari sounded as if it was hitting a limiter down the straight :P Seriously. Good to see the 3.5 Brabham Buick destroy the rest although it has an extra liter being Formula Libre. MRP that is the same block as a Rover 3.5 and is capable of 700HP NA bored out to 4.2 which is the old engine the car was running. In this config it could spin the wheels through every gear down the straight and owner said it was TOO powerful so he sold the motor :( That is what I call an awesome car. Zeds (3 thereof) ran well keeping pace with a BMW 3.0 CSL but as usual behind the Porsche's. I am secretly a Porsche fan so that is OK ;D.
