mtopxsecret6 Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 just looking at a bit of a japanese performance history lesson. what company's etc were tuning the old skool cars in there day? Ie, prince building the skrine before nissan merged etc.. who has what? Quote
NZeder Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Bit of wide open question you have asked there. Prince was for sure as they had an extensive race team/project and developed some very nice engines including the GR8 with was used in the R380 Le Mann's type prototype racer. This engine lead the team to develop the S20 engine which was used in the first Skyline GT-R the KPGC10 (Hakasuka) and then the 432 Fairlady which given this is a S30/Zed site most should be aware of. So as result of the Prince Nissan merger then Nissan continued the performance development started by Prince. Some say that the P in the KPGC10 and PS30 (aka S20 powered cars) was to show the connection to the Prince engine development team however this is just hear say and an internet story I can't confirm or deny that there is any truth to that statement. As for other companies well I believe Fujitsubo were making the performance exhaust setup for the S30 aka 240z/432 Fairlady's etc for what is now NISMO which were listed on the Sport Options catalogue for the 240z back in the day.
