GT240Z Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 Gday guys I recently purchased myself a 240Z to fix up. Its got an L28 with twin Su's. Body and engine were done a few years ago so its not great but not in too bad shape. Hoping to tidy it up to be a basic street car at this stage. (Love to do more but it all comes down to $$$) I met a couple of you recently at the meeting point for the recent cruise day in Melbourne. I'll post some picks soon. Cheers Brian Quote

reverendzed Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 Welcome Brian, there's a couple of us guys out here in Narre Warren area and happy to be of any help we can. great to see another Zed being cared for. Rev. Quote
GT240Z Posted November 2, 2008 Author Posted November 2, 2008 Thanks for the welcome. And thanks for the offer of assitance Reverendzed. It will be good to have some local Zed's. Here's some photos of my project. It's got an L28 and was supercharged as you can see in the photo(I think the s/charger is off an MR2). It had a bypass section on it so you could just hit the switch and it would close the valve and run on the forced induction or have the valve open and run on normal air although the supercharger is always there spinning. The valve setup wasn't working and the car hadn't been started in a couple of years. I have removed the supercharger as I don't want the hassles or stress on the engine. Just want to keep things simple and straight forward. It was sititng under an average car cover for a few years so the paint has faded a little and has signs of the cover resting on it. I'm hoping a decent cut and polish will bring back some life. The body, engine etc had been redone a few years before that so hoping the engine is still good. I put some fresh fuel and a new battery in it and it started amazingly quickly and sounds healthy so fingers crossed. Its got the usual rust in the floor and support rails so that is the first step in the overall scheme of things. And so the fun begins..... Quote
C.A.R. Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Welcome to the forum, Bwian! Good luck with the project - it looks like a good car to start with. BTW, where did you see it advertised? Quote
Brabham Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Hi, Nice car. Any idea of how much boost and power output with the blower? Sad to see it go Quote
GT240Z Posted November 3, 2008 Author Posted November 3, 2008 Not sure how it went with the blower. It was fixed up by the previous owners brother(a diesel mechanic) for her. Engine and body good but they never really saw it through. Now it my turn! Quote
