GT240Z Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 Hey folks I'm building up a 240Z to be a basic street car and the fuel filler hose is old, cracked and leaking fuel. I can see a few online overseas but was wondering if anyone has sourced one locally or found an alternative to the stock one? Cheers Brian Quote
chris240 Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 Welcome Brian.. not sure where to get the filler hose as Im after one myself..I think its also the cause of my cabin fumes...bit cracked. (everything else is pretty well sealed and re-newed) may have to buy one the same diam. & modify. Quote
Mr240z Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 Hey boys you wont find one in australia I brought one about 6 months ago from MSA in the states it was about $145 to me http://www.motorsportauto.com/ parts number is 11-3240 price $102.62US plus postage Quote
GT240Z Posted November 3, 2008 Author Posted November 3, 2008 Thanks for the replies. I suspected I would have to get one from the states. Chris, I was thinking of trying to modify something and I went around to quite a number of different hose suppliers and manufacturers. None of them had anything flexible enough which was rated for fuel. I was surprised. I think in the end, it will be easier and cheaper to get it from the US. Shame the dollar dropped..... Quote
Mr240z Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Hey GT240Z i worked in a spareparts shop for 15 years i went though all the supliers and nothing came close .mine was cracked right in the middle so i cut that part out and got a exhaust shop to bend a bit of exhaust pipe to suit and inserted in the middle off it with 2 large hose clamps on it It worked for a while but the hose was too far gone .Mate for the price of a new one from the states you,d be saving in the end from fuel dripping on the road .Take my word for it, DO IT!! reverendzed Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Hey brian, I may have one! and it's mint, I just need to check with my son first who I think is parting out his Zed, I'll know in a day or two. Rev. Quote
GT240Z Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 Rev, that would certainly be a much easier option if you have one. Let me know. Also, if he's parting out his Z, might have to have a chat about what else is going. mr240z, i looked at doing similar customs things but in end end, it just isn't worth it while the originals are still available.
