Weld on flare kit?

Hi Guys,

 

I've been trying to find any information on a steel weld on flare kit for a while now without any luck.  I've seen them before, the ones I'm after look like NZeders flares.  It'll be going on a 260z but I don't think there is much difference/modification needed for 240z ones to work.  I have a set of ZG flares that Benzed got me, I'd just prefer a seamless look like the flares were meant to be if I could get a weld on kit.  Can anyone help?

You could always bog the joins in for the smooth look. But if that sounds cheap be innovative and look around wrechers at 4wd or large car wheel archers to cut out and adapt or weld onto the Zed. Beleive it or not you would find something to suit. Or try a USA site they might be able to help with a standard mod.

think you will find most steel flares are made to suit car so really need to find a panel beater who will make you a set

was a guy selling set 944 porsche rear guards suggesting they could be placed on  240z but when i looked further at them would need to run flare into door as well so lot of work would look great though

How big a flare are you after???

 

My 240 had the front guards flared to fit the 8" rims I use so only needed a little, about half of what a ZG flare is, and for the rear we used a Suzuki Sierra Eyebrow flare in fibreglass to just cover the rears. The fronts are very subtle and don't spoil the lines as I feel the ZG flares can.

I would ideally like to get 10" under that back but that is really pushing it.  Fronts would be no more than 8.5".  I found some photos of a guy who used VW bug wheel arches but they don't quite do it for me.  I'm chasing a sharp flare thats like, original panel lines *BAM!* angle change to flares, someting deffinate but not ridiculous. 

 

I'll have to look into the sierra flares so thanks for that suggestion PZG203.

i was on the same dilema as you neuby, but i just bit the bullet and went with flares. it'll be a lot of work to blend another metal flares to the zed, but if yur up for it then great

NZeder's flares looked really awesome, but i think it was done profesionally. why not try the panel beaters. might cost too much tho.

when i was looking through a beema site trying to find some info on my headlights, i came across a really nice fake e46 m3 that had aftermarket immitation m3 flares put on it (but they were more extreme than stock m3) it looked really good, so i wonder if looking at aftermarket parts for it would be worthwhile?

 

i've always kind of wanted that sort of m3 flare look (original panel lines then *BAM!* angle change to flares), the racing zg flares are nearly getting there, but the normal zg's do grow on you!

 

I'll see if i can find any pics of the m3 wannabe, or atleast of the flares...
