280zUSA
Hey guys, I was going to restore a lhd 76 280z but ended up buying a rhd 75 260z... I had the lhd brake booster reconditioned! Can I put the lhd brake booster on my rhd z? Is it a straight swap over? Any help or advice would be awesome Cheers David
gilltech
How did you manage to end up with a LHD booster? Well how do the two compare to look at? Brake lines come out the same side? Is there anything wrong with the booster on the 260Z?
Retro Z
Yes they are the same. But master cylinder may be different.
gilltech
Depends on the master cylinder. Looking at images online it appears that LHD cars and RHD cars both have the brake lines attached on the same side not opposite. But then the non-original one on my car has the option of having the lines attached and bleed valves either side. So they do appear to be the same. Diameter? All depends on what you've ended up buying.
260DET
Just keep in mind that the booster and MC are separate. Retro Z says that the boosters are the same so all you need now is a MC with the outlets facing to the left. I always trawl egay in these sorts of situations, pics. gilltech
I think the 2+2 booster is larger than the 2-seat booster isn't it? I seem to recall some chit-chat about that 'upgrade' for a 2-seat a long time ago. The aftermarket master I have currently fitted is 'reversible' as I said above, the pipes and bleed valves can be fitted either side.
