Replacement Solenoid Valve For Vacuum Source

Hi guys,

One of the items I need to remedy for my 260z RWC is my front defrost.

I've found the issue, a bad solenoid valve on the bracket in the bay that also holds the AC fast idle solenoid.

The coil in it is still good, but it barely opens and allows vacuum to pass.

I'll bypass it for now or swap it with the fast idle one, but does anyone know if spares are still available or if a good overnight soak in something can free them up?

Cheers!

Hi

Something else you may wantbto check is the one way valve near the vacuum tank.

Mine was stuffed. I replaced it with a windscreen washer one way valve, this valve is very small, fits inline and works well.

Cheers Peter,

That's a good idea, I'll check it out.

You should have seen the mess the vac lines were in when I started.

The check valve was backwards and the vacuum reservoir was only before the fast idle actuator (vacuum to the heater core bits was direct from the manifold).
