andyk_79 Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 OK I'm sure the answer MUST be out there but my reading of the Haynes manual, searching of this site and googling have not given me a definitive answer. My engine has the single pointer (with no degrees either side) on the timing cover and notches on the harmonic balancer for setting timing. I have found from the Haynes manual that the notches are at 5 degree intervals, but cannot for the life of me find anywhere which tells me which notch is TDC. I am assuming that it is the second to last in the direction of rotation but you know what they say about assuming things. I apologise that I am sure the answer is out there but after spending a chunk of time trying to find it I am admitting defeat. Quote
