Pigpen Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 I was wondering if anyone can tell me if there is any difference between the tailgate of the different models?? I have just discovered that half of my 260 2+2 tailgate is made of bog. While I could put in a load of work to recreate the sheetwork, I figure it is probably easier to pick up another one. So do I need to only look for tailgates from the same model or will any one fit?? BTW - if there is anyone in NSW that has a spare one kicking around feel free to PM me. Quote
Pigpen Posted February 9, 2008 Author Posted February 9, 2008 Sweet ... I figured it may be the case, but better to check before hand. Thanks Quote
HELLFIRE! Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 2 + 2 is longer than a coupe Also the mounting hinges are spaced differently, early 240's only had one strut and rear vents. Ant year model 2+2 will serve you well. Quote
24OZ Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 2 + 2 is longer than a coupe are you sure i seem to remember measuring them up and the coupe was actually longer,or maybe it was just the glass??? ps if anyone in perth needs a mint 2+2 tailgate i have one for $200 complete Quote
Pigpen Posted February 10, 2008 Author Posted February 10, 2008 Sorry dude, I think a tailgate would exceed my luggage allowance. I am more than happy to hear form any sydney siders though ... Mick Quote
HELLFIRE! Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 ^^I'll get the measuring tape out tomorrow and size up the overall dimensions and the glass. Quote
NZeder Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 The 2+2 is 100% wider that is forsure as is the slam panel, rear bumper all to make room for the +2 part of the car the whole ass is wider about 1" over all. Quote
