theremm Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 After a loan, or chuck away early type cylinder head, with just the three cam towers in rder to se as a jig, to then get a spray bar repaired. E30/31/88 heads ran the sray bar. Alternately, any old head, and non matching cam towers, but they must be the oil spray bar type towers. Brisbane metro pick up. Jason I did some research and I am of the understanding that the spray bar you provided me was actually off a later L28 head. Apparently many of the L28's up until '77 (well at least in the US anyway) used an external spray bar however with a slightly different design to the early type I swapped you, hence the difference in the 2 spray bar designs. Needless to say the later style spray bar you exchanged with me fits onto the early E88 head, so any of the later cylinder heads with spray bar cam towers will also suit for your jig purposes. Hope that helps! Quote
PZG302 Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 How quick do you need it? I think the L28 I have in the garage is a spray bar type, but I don't get back to Aus until the 19th September. Quote
dat2kman Posted August 26, 2015 Author Posted August 26, 2015 Matt, that'd be fine, but if thats a complete bolted together engine, i'd rather not devalue it by seperating it. I just need a head only, and the three cam towers the spray bar bolts to. I'll then get it all to Manny, and he will get the very loose unjointed leaky sray bar i got from Alex, silver soldered back up, in crrect rientation. I'm not in any hurry at all! Quote
PZG302 Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Will have a look when I get back home. Won't hurt the value of the motor as if it is apart can then see the condition of it to see what it would be useful for. Quote
dat2kman Posted August 26, 2015 Author Posted August 26, 2015 Been rummaging in the shed,,,, Found three cam towers to suit spraybar, so that part is sorted, Now just need a head. Matt if your head turns out to be a spray bar head, that would work! Would prefer a buggered warped cooked head.as where it will go they may not be kind to it?? Quote
dat2kman Posted August 27, 2015 Author Posted August 27, 2015 Have old towers. Just after a unuseable head. Quote
dat2kman Posted August 30, 2015 Author Posted August 30, 2015 All sorted! Thanks to zed74 ! Got a very corroded one. Quote
