Hi,

Here is my draft of a 240z dash vent in Fusion 360 I did on the weekend. I had done this up in Rhino 5 but figure Fusion 360 is a bit more flexible. Just doing this for fun/learning but I do plan on getting the dimensions correct at some point.

I left off the bumps/grip to keep it nice and sleek.

I also did the central vent (with bumps).

Cheers

Scott

So you could use this rendering for 3D printing I assume? Have you had an experience using a 3D printer.

You could 3D print this but 3D printing isn't really up to scratch yet.

I have no experience with 3D printing or CNC but I am going to give the toolpath function a crack.

Nice how long has it taken you to become proficient with your 3d renderings?

I used 3d studio Max when I studied computer science but haven't touched it ever since. I'm interested in what 3D printing can do for us. Hence want to learn again at some point.

I had a trial version of Rhino for years but barely used it as the surfaces are not very editable (20 of 25 saves left). I opened it up again to see if it was worth buying but it lead me hunting for T-Splines which lead me to Fusion.

I've only used Fusion for a few days and find it a little frustrating for CAD (coming from Rhino) but the surfaces are editable which I am going to put to the test with my next project.
