RLY240 Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Anyone got some advice on the best way to mount fibreglass bumpers? I have a set of Alfa Motorsport bumpers that come with mounts etc but there doesn't seem to be an obvious way of mounting the brackets to the bumpers. Anyone done this and got any advice before I just go nuts with some more resin? Roger Quote
PeterAllen Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Sikaflex 252 - The GTO is built with it! Are you going to make aluminium brackets? Quote
RLY240 Posted July 5, 2015 Author Posted July 5, 2015 Thanks Peter, beat you to it and already had a go with the 252 this morning - strong enough to to hold the bobtail on so should be fine on the bumpers. Alfa actually supplied fibreglass brackets and they suggested sikaflex too so fingers crossed they should be fine. Did you sort out your handbrake? Roger Quote
PeterAllen Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Roger. If it isn't too late, cover the nozzle with a finger from a rubber glove and tape it down with some gaff tape. Put the whole tube in one of those snap-lock plastic bags and put it in the fridge. I've been able to retrieve it, pull a by then solidified plug from the nozzle and use the remainder several months after first opening the tube. I think I've got an answer (followed your suggestion) for the handbrake, but I'm not over confident. Quote
