Today i got my 260Z (2 seater) back from my mechanic, and drove her for the first time, shes the one in my avatar. To drive her I had to get a temporary rego from VicRoads, which was easier than I expected, $40 for 7 days. The only anoying thing is that she is soooo loud due to two hotdogs, and as a future daily driver this will have to change. Also to get a road worthy I would have to change the exhaust system any way. Everthing else was fantastic, suspension, handling, performance, braking and gear change (Auto).

My next big step is getting her prepped for paint which includes rust repair (mostly surface). I'm keepng her white so it wont be a total strip down.

So anyway I'm on a Z high! I'm pretty sure it's not the fumes talking! :D

nice! congrats!

those UVPs are a punch in the wallet ey?

i remember i got a 30 day pass for just under 60 bucks. When i had the Type R, but heres the kicker. You wait over a month for engineer inspection. WTF! i would have thought the engineers would want to do it faster. because it costs about 400 for the certificate and all they do is look through the repair work.

For me it was either pay $100 to put her on the back of a truck or get the UVP for $40 and have fun driving her, no contest really. Apparently I could have applied over the phone.

My mechanic is 30km away which is why it was going to cost me $100 for a tow.

I would love to come to one of the meets soon. The daily driver (1976 260Z 2+2) is up for it any time but she has some embarrassing fender damage.
