I just zinc plated some nose cones, lower indicator panels and valance. Even though it looks a bit different, I've been told its the best way to prevent future rust issues and its almost ready to paint (they are pretty damage free other than some small issues). One little thing I didn't do before the zinc plating, was to repair some holes that were drilled in one of the nose cone for a lens cover.

Question is has anyone else done something similar?  Was it something worth doing? Cost wasn't much; about $60 plus another $55 to sandblast. Pic below of the finish before any painting has been done.
