Mandrel bends vs Regular bends for intercooler pipes

Does mandrel bends vs regular bends really that make big a difference for just a street car? I'm not going drag racing or chasing E.T's. Just driving for fun.

Would you notice a difference on the same system, same engine but the different bends. I don't think it would be noticeable would it?

Opinions ?

With regular vs manderl bends, the cross section area in a normal pipe bend is a decent percentage smaller as the pipe flattens itself at the  bend. Theres a huge difference...even avoid using 90 degree bends if possible. How much would you save if you used normal bends compared to mandrel?

Whether the difference would be noticeable on a street car, or really impact driving or not, I would still use mandrel bends. I use Mandrel over crush bends any time I can, for any bend. I figure it's the same work either way, why not use the better flowing bends?

Also if you're not using complete bends, but cutting somewhere in the middle of the bend to weld back together to fit around something, as I often do, it's much, much easier with mandrel bends than with crush bends.

A litle bit, for a fun road car.

Having many bend, will alter air speed and pressure each time it expands and retracts. Which you'll feel as a bit of lag and not a true indication of boost.

I'm assuming you're just getting an exhaust guy to bend it up in one peice, to try and make it easier?

I'd personally go for mandrel bends.
