Missing a spring/clip on my door mechanism which is preventing the mechanism from holding when I unlock the door (i.e. when I take the key out after unlocking the mechanism falls back to the locked position)..so frustrating!!!

Anyone parting or have spare a right hand door mechanism/door?

Alternatively has anyone experienced a similar problem and able to purchase the part new or make one themselves?

Thanks :)

Yes it is. I just played with my right hand side door lock / catch mechanism recently as it wouldn't lock properly. Found out the the screws that hold the main part in are different in length so if you place the wrong one in, it interferes with the mechanism.

Mmmm -  i'll keep that in mind for the passenger side door as it is experiencing the same problem you described. Thanks for the tip.

I had a chance to look at my driver's side door mechanism again, and also after comparing to the passenger side door it is apparent that I am missing the spring which is highlighted in the attached photographs. This would explain why the mechanism functions correctly, however does not remain unlocked when I remove the key (i.e. the mechanism 'falls' back to the locked position). It doesn't appear that you have this spring in the mechanism you posted :(

That spring is in there; it's just sandwiched between the two metal parts. That provides the locking click. Only issue mine had was the screw length thing...found that out after I pulled my door apart!
