scoot3r42 Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 hey guys need some help im doing a rb30 swap i have the engine and gearbox just need a few more little things like manual flywheel new clutch kit and slave engine mounts from castlemain rod shop! what gearbox mounts do you use? tail shaft do you have to get a custom one made? fuel pump do i need a bigger one? if anyone could help me that would be great. NZeder Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 The RB gearbox is the same length as the L24/26/28 B boxes so no drive shaft mods needed (unless you have an early 240z that was fitted with the A box originally - this assume the engine/gearbox end up in the stock location like the 240/260z if however the engine mounts over the engine back then your gearbox will be back = shorter drive shaft required. That is about all I can offer for now as I have not done a RB conversion. Quote

I spoke to them about it and they said it comes effectively as two pieces, one part that mounts to the car in a few locations then another that once u have the engine position worked out you weld to the other one. there's a pic of the mount on this site. http://myweb.westnet.com.au/mikeval/Main.htm a disadvantage of it is the pain taking the gearbox out without taking out the motor would be...but if u search for "rb25 mount" it will come up with a thread of some mounts others have.
