BenZed Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Just picked up another Zed yesterday, a 1975 260Z 2+2. It was on Gumtree for about 15 minutes before I went and bought it. Has a few 1980s modifications I need to get rid of and a few paint issues, but very little rust. Floor and rails are perfect. I think I'll have to learn to live with the sunroof, but I have already swapped the 14-inch Dragways for 16x8 and 16x8.5 Watanabe F8 type. Also discovered the reason it ran badly was one of the carbies was seized. That was an easy fix. Plan to get the engine (L28) breathing a bit better and sort out the paint problems. Will go back to chrome bumpers too. Then... drive around for a while and sell it I suppose. Here it is before I drove it home and then with the new wheels fitted. Quote

Moderators PB260Z Posted April 15, 2014 Moderators Posted April 15, 2014 Not at all, 205/55 front and 225/50 rear Achilles Thanks, I have a set of 16x8 & 16x8.5 Simmons V4's for mine and am working out what size to go with. Quote

Good point, will get out the tape measure when they come back from being restored No major hurry as the car is not on the road yet. Quote
BenZed Posted May 1, 2014 Author Posted May 1, 2014 Started pulling it apart for a tidy up of the paintwork. Haven't found anything of much concern so far, my 240Z was in much worse shape when I bought it Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted May 2, 2014 Moderators Posted May 2, 2014 Front hinge area looks mint.. as said good score! What are the guards and behind like? my 77 had some issues there. Quote
BenZed Posted June 5, 2014 Author Posted June 5, 2014 A few previous repairs on the guards and sills, nothing too dramatic. Nearly done with the rubbing back now, just fitted up a Restored front spoiler too. I'm having a pair of fibreglass bumpers from Restored wrapped in chrome to see if that looks ok. If not will paint them gunmetal or black Quote
