zed240au Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 have to carry log book in car at all times listing speedo reading at start of day out and at end of day big fines like $2000 if caught without log book mick Quote
aegean Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Also check with your insurance company. If you have an accident and can't prove it was being used under the terms of the registration, they will turn down a claim. Insurance companies are very aware that cars under club rego are used for purposes outside the mandate of the registration (i.e. I'll just take the Zed down to the shop) and will be pretty rigorous in trying to disprove a claim. FuzzyDropbear Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 I've heard this type of rego is just a pain in the backside. Unless you are purely using it as a weekender and aren't going to drive it at any other point in time. Quote
620Z Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Yeah I thought it would be a pain as well so I left mine as normal rego. For the sake of a few hundred dollars I didn't want any restrictions using it when I wanted to. Quote
zed240au Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 yeah its only good if you use it for the idea it was developed for eg racing or weekender my problem is i have two weekenders plus a road bike so suits me fine insurance drops heaps too so i can register and insure both weekenders for the cost of one and i still dont drive either the 52 days so works fine for me but wouldnt recomend it for anyone trying to cheat the system mick Quote
