peter t Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Hi all, I have read a very old post regarding this problem but am wondering if anyone else has experienced the problem that I have. After being back on the road after 4 years I am now getting a lot of white mud like crap blocking the fuel filter. The tank and fuel lines were dry and plugged while the car was being fixed up and I blew them out before fitting back on the car. What is the best way of cleaning the tank out to get rid of all this muck. Peter. Quote
BobsYourUncle Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 I got mine dipped, painted and internally coated at Red Devil Radiators in Nerang. I thought about doing it myself, but mine was quite bad, and I didn't really want to play around with the chemicals that would've been required (hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid) in the quantities that would've been needed. d3c0y Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 How much did it cost? I'm on the GC and have my tank out at the moment. Quote

Thanks Ian, I will see if the Red Devil boys in Moss St offer the same service. Quote

d3c0y Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 At around $90 i wonder how much less that is than getting the shop to do it though? Quote
BobsYourUncle Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 I think I paid $250, but I was quite happy with that as my tank was pretty bad. Quote
