Fuel Tank Cleaning.

Hi all, I have read a very old post regarding this problem but am wondering if anyone else has experienced the problem that I have. After being back on the road after 4 years I am now getting a lot of white mud like crap blocking the fuel filter. The tank and fuel lines were dry and plugged while the car was being fixed up and I blew them out before fitting back on the car. What is the best way of cleaning the tank out to get rid of all this muck.

I got mine dipped, painted and internally coated at Red Devil Radiators in Nerang. I thought about doing it myself, but mine was quite bad, and I didn't really want to play around with the chemicals that would've been required (hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid) in the quantities that would've been needed.

How much did it cost? I'm on the GC and have my tank out at the moment.

At around $90 i wonder how much less that is than getting the shop to do it though?

I think I paid $250, but I was quite happy with that as my tank was pretty bad.

there are 2 different size kits they sell for this. i bought the larger one at around 120ish and got heaps left over.
