Megs Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 As it says, down here on the little island. I have been the proud owner of a 1979 280zx since 2004. Two tone silver paint, blue silver interior. 53000 k's. We registered and drove it for 6 months, then into the shed. It was laid up waiting for a gearbox bearing for 10 years before I gave it a new home. It has sat for the last 8 years doing nothing, threw a battery at it, some fresh fuel (I never realised how different stale fuel smells). Bloody thing canned and wouldn't start. Checked fuel pressure (pulled hose and covered the engine bay!). No spark......pulled the coil lead. Plugged it back on and it warred like it was new !!!!!!! Will put some photos up soon. The only non original parts in this car are the consumables(plugs, leads and battery). It's undergoing full restoration now, only rust was at bottom of guards. My son bought himself a 300zx a few weeks ago, as his first car....he is still learning these cars are a way of life, not just a mode of transport!! Megs Quote

Megs Posted June 17, 2013 Author Posted June 17, 2013 Here she sits. Rust: Fixed under windscreen, bottom of guards, rear taillight. Currently repairing under guards. Lots of sun damage to dash, top of door skins, steering shroud. <Before our time. Time to disappear into the car for days, and let the housework take care of itself (or not). Will keep updates happening. Megs. Quote
