Dave280z Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Hey Guys, My ZX is currently getting prepped for a nice new 2 tone paint job and i have a week to find an airdam or front bar. I really don't want to modify the front of the car so i need something to replace what i have, or fit an airdam and run the stock front bar. Can someone help as i'm having ZERO luck anywhere on the net for these. Quote

Dave280z Posted June 6, 2013 Author Posted June 6, 2013 ImackZ - That's the future plan, i'm assuming yours is the red one? . Very nice, i guess i could run it stock for now until my fiberglassing/ Fab skills get up to speed. Shes getting a 2 tone Black on Silver paint job ( from bare metal ) so running a stock black bar for the mean time won't hurt. I really should post up some picks of the build as it's taken quite some time to strip it all back and prep. I'd be happy with just an Air dam that i'll paint black for now. There just seems to be nothing around that doesn't require expensive shipping. Quote

I've got an '81 280zx and I'm intending to do everything I can myself - whilst also looking at things I can do... so how does one build this "by hand" ? Quote

pauly_adams Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 I may be making them soon ill keep you posted Quote
Dave280z Posted June 10, 2013 Author Posted June 10, 2013 Pauly Keep us posted! , would be very keen. As for making them yourself i've seen places use Shaping Foam from an arts place, and then fiberglass it once shaped..... Requires a lot of artistic skill which i don't have unfortunately. This is where owning a Z gets expensive... Paying for all the things you can't do yourself Quote
pauly_adams Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 by the look of things we will be making a full kit also, so front spoiler, rear spoiler and a couple of different types of flairs, we may also be making some side skirts to make up a full wide body, after we have made 240/260z we will then be doing 280zx and z31. the fellow who will be making them has been doing it for 40years and I have convinced him that its time to start again and teach me some of his skills Quote
