Hi all,

I`m wanting to rego my 260 in Vic.  It`s a 3rd month 1976 model.  It was a track car that ran avgas but i will be converting it to E85.

Are there any pollution requirements I have to meet?

It has an aftermarket ECU and IR, im not sure if this makes a difference?

Cheers,

Simon

Ive done a little more research on the EPA req./vicroads website.

It appears that its just the basics.  Plumbed back crank case ventilation and no more than 4.5% CO at idle for pre 86 cars.

It says that no aftermarket ecus are permitted in one section, but in another it says that pre 86(leaded) cars have no exhaust emission requirements other than the 4.5%CO at idle. So im not sure about the aftermarket ECU.  Is this for cars/engines that already have EFI, to stop people changing to programable??

Does anyone know any more about the aftermarket ECU rules?  The engine is an L28, so pre 86 aswell.

I remember asking a RWC mechanic many many years ago about registering a car with aftermarket EFI that had carbs originally and he told me there shouldn't be a problem as EFI runs a lot cleaner than carbs can. If they do an emissions test it all should be revealed.
