WTB: (PER) Stainless tank straps

Hi Guys,

I've been having a hunt around, but I'm not getting anywhere so I thought I might ask here. I'm looking for:

- Stainless steel tank straps (280z). I know they're available, I just can't find them. Needs to be 280z to fit my car

- Tank strap rubbers to fit

- Rear hatch window rubber, new. They use to be easy to find, but can't seem to locate a new one any more

If anyone knows off the top of their head where to go, or has some they want to sell, please chime in!

The chap who made my fuel tank made up a set for me - cheap as chips... $10 I think. Try to find someone on the marine side of things who makes fuel tanks for boats. Depending on the end fittings you may have to reuse what you have. The rubber is available from any rubber supplier in a range of widths.

Ooh, now they look fancy.

I made some up using some 40x3 stainless flat bar and bent to the same shape as the originals. Went to clark rubber and cut some rubber strips around 45mm wide and glued them on the inside of the straps.

Polished the flat bar to mirror finish and they came up a treat. Not sure about the 'cheap as chips' part as the stainless costs more that $10 just to buy but I guess it's cheaper for a place that just has sheet off cuts 'laying' around.
