singhy Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 hey i wanted to know whether 280zx or 300zx z31 struts are similar to 260 (2+2) struts i know there shorter than 260 ones, but i wanted to know whether they will bolt in with little to no mods.. i really want z31 struts as i wanna run z32 brakes are rotors. i just havnt had a chance to look and was just wondering if any one else has. thanks Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted August 30, 2011 Moderators Posted August 30, 2011 I run Z32 calipers and Mustang discs but I modified the caliper to fit the original mounts. A friend in Melbourne does them pretty easily (if you have access to machining equipment!). Pic is from another zed I owned now in WA with an RB26DETT. Quote
Gyra Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Hi, I believe the angle of the stub axle is dramatically different on the 280ZX and 300ZX struts as they are located more vertically. Maybe 10 degrees different, which would cause severe negative camber. G Quote
luvemfast Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 I would highly doubt that Z31 or S130 struts will fit an S30 car. If you want to run Z32 brakes, you're not reinventing the wheel. I think the brackets can be purchased from Robco Engineering? As for the Z31 hubs, you may be able to fit these if you're chasing 5 studs. Quote
singhy Posted August 31, 2011 Author Posted August 31, 2011 thanks guys, i just thought id try and see.. well will z31 5 stud hubs fit onto the stub axle of a s30 strut? and whats the bolt width of brake calipers?(like where they bolt on) i was just hopin of usin z32 brakes, cause they seem the best option for the price Quote
