Scoota G Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 You can probably tell from the title what i'm after. Mine is Dead, please help as the local speed shop have no idea. Bursons? Repco? Quote
Riceburner Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Nissan had them 2yrs ago, no part number sorry. Is it dead or is the rust stopping it from working? They rust up between the brass sensor and the steel retainer, try separating them and clean with steel wool/brush. Quote
Scoota G Posted June 10, 2010 Author Posted June 10, 2010 It's dead for sure. Just found this and the price is good too. http://www.abouttimespares.com.au/showpart.asp?id=31840 Part No: 25080-89900 Quote
camZ Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Bought mine 3 weeks ago for about $18 from Bursons. Repco was $50 Quote
Scoota G Posted June 10, 2010 Author Posted June 10, 2010 Cool, how does it work? Also do you have a part number? Just for future reference of others. Quote
camZ Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 I will dig up the box for the part number. It works fine, it comes as one unit not with the chrome threaded ring. Repco sells that ring as a seperate item. Bursons have it on their listings. Took a day to get it down from Melb to Geelong Quote
Riceburner Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 It's just a resistor that changes voltage output with the temp of the water, sensor is brass, threaded ring is steel, into aluminium housing= corrosion. When the corrosion gets bad enough the sensor won't earth and gauge gives no reading or very low. My first one went from being fine to giving no reading overnight, once they're cleaned up usually work fine again. Quote
