  1. Hi Guys, I am in the final stages of the rebuild on my L28 and I have a set of used 4.8mm lash pads that need to be squared off on the top (in the U section on top). I would prefer to refurbish these rather than replace them. I have checked the wipe pattern and if the lash pads were a la little shorter it would still be ok as they 1.5mm from the pivot side. 1) Does any one know someone that can use refurbish these in Melbourne? 2) Or know how to DIY re-finish these lash pads? 3) Worst case supply new ones? A separate question, with the thick lash pads they really need valve spring retainer that support them so they don't get flicked out, does anyone that can supply these? Thanks for your help Blue Z
  2. Hi guys, I would like to get some parts zinc passivated plated (the gold one), has anyone have a contact in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne that they have a good experience with? Thanks Blue Z,

    Spool Conrods

Hi Peter, Thanks, I will stick with the standard rods and cast pistons. If I had a spare 2k then I would do the spool rods and forged pistons. Cheers James

    Spool Conrods

Hi Peter, Does the 100 g per rod saving with the spool rods compared to standard make any difference to engine acceleration? Also what do you consider rpm limit of cast pistons?

    Spool Conrods

Hi guys, Quick question, I am considering the spool conrods for my current l28 build http://www.spoolimports.com/spool-conrods/nissan/l28-conrods I have flat top pistons with press in pins. Can you size the little end on the spool conrods to suit the press in pins or do you have to convert them to spiral locks or similar? Any feedback would be appreciated.
  10. Hi all, I have read through the performance site, that's one crazy head that guy has welded up, I would be great to do however my budget doesn't stretch that far. So based on my reading I would also be interested if someone has a N47 or E88 from a 240z that they would like to offload? Cheers bluez
  11. Hi All, I was hoping that someone out there has a good condition N42 with welded combustion chambers that they would like to sell. Same style as the Datsun performance book shows. Don't mind if it's bare as I have all the bit to build it up. Please pm message me if you have anything interesting. Blue Z
  12. Hi Guys, I am currently in the process of building my L28 and I'm interested what the minimum piston to cylinder head clearance that people have run? If you could also provide KW and maximum timing during load that would also be really interesting? The build that I working on is N42 head with flat top pistons(+1mm), I am currently looking to weld the combustion chamber to enhance squish, similar to what they did in How to modify Nissan / Datsun OHC book. The book recommends a minimum of 50 thou piston to head clearance, however I have heard that this can be taken down to 30 thou. Due to the fact that I will have a lumpy cam I will cut valve reliefs in the flat top pistons which will offset the welding on the chambers, my aim is to keep compression ratio about 12. Any information would be appreciated. BlueZ

  23. Hi MaygZ, Sorry that you missed out on the gearbox. My policy is first in best dressed, as you can see below you were about 20 seconds from taking away the gearbox. It has now been fully paid for and taken away. Fair Enough? [/img]
