  1. Hi peeps. Sorry if this is out of order but I'm forced to sell my project 260Z and I have no idea what to ask for it. I don't want to rip myself off but I also want to be realistic with the selling price so it actually sells. I don't have any pictures yet but will try to update this thread with some pics over the weekend however it's basically as follows: 1977 260Z 2+2 Factory manual Factory white Factory AC car We purchased the car from a chap in Sydney a few years back now. Currently it is sitting in the shed after having the following work done to it (most of which was done by the previous owner): New 2K paint job some 8 years ago now. All rust removed at the time and painted factory white in 2K. Now there are no bubbles in this paint but some imperfections are starting to show. nothing major just minor stuff caused by age I guess. Receipt for over $8000 spent on this. Fully rebuilt engine (original motor) that has been blue printed and balanced. Incl new clutch also balanced. This work was done by some hotshot Sydney Nissan guru according to the chap we got it from however there are no receipts for the motor. It is obvious that it has been fully stripped and rebuilt. Original bumpers have been rolled and rechromed Comes with original Hitachi carbs Also has a set of rebuilt Su's or CD Strombergs (I can't remember). Has original alloy rims, original air cleaner etc Plus heaps more like extractors, new engine mounts, new plugs, belts, hoses etc Interior is in pretty good and original condition although needs carpet and a general tidy up. Includes spare centre console. Overall it's a very original car that needs to be reassembled and finished off. We have installed the motor and gearbox but no driveshaft as yet. Put another genuine new rear main seal in the motor before fitting just in case as the motor was rebuilt a few years back now and just been sitting there I know without pictures it's hard to say but what do the gurus think is a fair price for the thing? Thanks in advance
  2. That is a ridiculous bargain .. if only they were in QLD I'd have them already.
  3. Thanks for the warm welcome guys. This is my first Zed car so I'm looking forward to it. I like the way they look and they way they sound and am looking forward to getting it back onto the road. As I said in my intro, my mate in Sudney is repainting under the bonnet the factory body colour (white) as I'm not too keen on black under the bonnet. Once he has done that he will bring it up here for us to finish off. I used to own a number of RX4 Coupes and I still hanker for one (still have a bunch of parts for them stashed away) but the Zed is a far more reliable and economical option for me .. and hopefully my young fella when the time is right. Look forward to catching up with other local Zed owners when she's finished. Cheers Craig
  4. Hi everyone. I've just joined the Zed club having just purchased a nice project 260Z that was on ebay. I don't have pics yet but this is the ebay link and it should work for the next 60 or so days: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/321009478751?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 It didn't sell on ebay but I managed to negotiate a good price for what looks like a pretty good base car. I would have preferred a non 2+2 car but couldn't seem to find any that are rust free and fitted my budget. Regardless, I'm happy with what I've got. I live in Sunny Qld (Sunshine Coast) and the car is in Sydney so a mate has picked it up for me. He is a painter and will respray the engine bay back to the body colour before bringing it up to me in all it's dismantled glory. Then my 10 year old son and I will finish the car and use it as a fun drive car. I suspect it might be his 2nd car (his first will be something like a cheap camry that he can knock around without worry) if I can bear to part with it myself. This way he won't harrass me to drive any of my other collectable cars PLUS he will learn a bit of old skool mechanics ... a win-win in my humble opinion. Anyway, I look forward to learning more about these classic Jap sports cars as we go along. Cheers Craig
