  1. Hi Guys I've had two 280 ZX shells for some years now, waiting for the right time to restore one of them (using the other as a donor car and also as a reminder of how they go back together!). I now need to give up on that idea due to the usual life changes (redundancy, selling the house, etc.) and I need to move them on, preferably to someone who has a Z passion. I know they are not the same as the classic S30, but I like them! Details: 280 ZX – 1982, red – rolling shell mostly stripped (the better shell); 280ZX – 1982, grey - mostly not yet disassembled, apart from removal of front fenders. The better shell (the red one) has rust in a few places only (passenger floor; minor at rear window surround, passenger sill), so is a good base for restoration. The engine has not been running in the grey donor car since 2012, but it has an excellent manual gearbox and clutch. I have an L28 engine on an engine stand that was running before removal. I also have a large number of spares from two other donor 280 ZXs that I stripped at the start of the project. Location: Canberra I would prefer both the cars and the spares to all go as one lot, because I need to tidy up the house for sale, but happy to talk about options. Not overly concerned about price, as I want them to go to a good home! Give me a call to discuss more detail about the cars and the spares list if you are interested. Canberra meet

I will be along on Sunday. My project zed is still in the process of being stripped back for painting, so a long way off being able to drive. I have a consolation Honda soft-top to keep me going in the meantime.......

    Canberra meet

I'd be keen to meet the guys on Friday 8th at the Yacht Club.
  6. I have a master cylinder for a MkI 280 ZX available. Not fantastic condition. You're welcome to come and have a look. Free to a good home. PM if interested.
  7. Chris - I'll be there at 5:30. Being totally new myself, I assume that all associated Z followers are welcome!
  8. It's not too bad. Usual sill rust and some at the front right behind the guard (probably due to mud getting behind the panels).
  9. Ok for me. I'm assuming it's the Southern Cross Yacht Club?
  10. As a newbie to the scene I'd be keen to meet over a drink or two. Unfortunately I will be out of town between the 12th and the 22nd Feb.....
  11. I'm at the bottom edge of Woden, in Torrens
  12. Hi guys, just picking up on the introduction thing. I've had a 1982 280 ZX Targa 2x2 sitting in my carport for the last four years. My son fell in love with the 280 and bought it back in 2004 (ish), with the aim of restoring it back to its former glory. It was bought in Sydney off ebay. It was a great runner (manual gearbox) and was his daily drive for quite a few years. I'm sure it's a familiar story, but I inherited the vehicle when he moved to Sydney and subsequently got married and realised he didn't have time to restore the car (and needed cash!). Having been around the car for a while I have also got hooked on the whole Z thing as well, but have been too busy at work and other life things to get serious about the rebuild. It got to the stage where I either had to get serious and start working on the car, or get rid of it out of the carport!. As usual, an ebay wander one day led me to another 280 ZX that I could strip for parts, so I decided to get serious and get stuck in. So that's where I'm at. I'm about half way through stripping the second vehicle so that I can get rid of the shell and start work on the original. I think the club has a great forum and I am looking forward to keeping in touch. Peter
