sorry guys i havent been on this forum for a while as i picked up a VJ Val ute but then because i rushed it i ended up by a dud and sold it for half what i paid and been a put off by older cars although i still like my old school Zs. I live in Roma 6hrs from Brisbane, 4 from Toowoomba. I havent looked at any in the flesh as i find it hard to organise a trip any where... money wise ill wait a week or 2 (if i dont buy something else) and look at my account but if im gonna go old school im willing to spend more to get something with less work panel/engine wise and build on it from there... again im sorry that i never contacted anyone.

I thought id bump this thread back up as ive started looking into buying 260z 2+2 in repairable/project condition. only looking for something in the $2000 mark at the moment and as close to South-West Queensland as possible would be good. Im only dabbling at the moment but if the right offer comes up ill consider.

still looking guys! athough considering stopping the search and get some more funds behind me so i can get a better start with a project.

Yes, I was actually offered a 260z 2+2 minus the engine and gearbox with surface rust in 2 places for $1200 but he didn't mention me to his wife and it got sold but im sure will pop up and hopefully ill have more to spend!

Hey guys, The name is Dan and I'm from South-west Queensland and I jouned this forum a few weeks ago but having gotten around to the introductions. I got a liking towards old cars and at first I didn't like Z cars but now I have fallen for there looks and uniqueness! So now I'm looking to buy a 260z 2+2 of my own! Although I can really afford anything spectacular but even if its a rolling shell with atleast the dash ill take it as a start, don't think ill get much more then that for $1400... And you know what they say "the poor man pays twice" but oh well. Looks like a great site with a wealth of info! Thanks!

thanks for the offer, ill keep it in mind as im currently looking at a 260z 2+2 (if i can ever get in contact with the owner again!) and for $1000 im sure it wont last long! Also the distance is a bit of a bother (already finding it hard enough for anyone to go for a 9hr trip for this other Z). oh and has much changed since you bought it? Thanks.

Well I may of just foynd a 260z 2+2 that looks reasonably complete but it doesn't have a engine/gearbox and has got what looks like surface rust in a few spots... But can't expect alot for $1200

Hey i was just wondering if anyone could point me towards some vechicle transport for a 260z with no engine/gearbox. It's from Mackay to Roma, I've sent some emails for quotes but wanting to know if you guys have any suggestions for someone or a company.
